ManTech International Falls to Anonymous

Cyber-security corporation and security contractor, ManTech International Corporation, affiliated with the United States federal government departments of Energy, Justice, Homeland Security, State, Defense and the Federal Bureau of Investigation fell victim to the “hacktivists” of the amorphous group “Anonymous”.

Anonymous released statements that described its raid, “We pwned ManTech utterly and throughly; and we did not need hundreds of millions for it..In fact, we did not require any funds at all, we did it with the Lulz.”

The raiders gained at least 400 megabytes of ManTech International data on the notorious Pirate Bay BitTorrent website.

The data includes documents that, according to Anonymous, shows how taxpayers are having their money “wasted”.

“We are providing these [documents] so the public can see for themselves how their tax money is being spent, but don’t you worry, the U.S. is a rich country and can afford to waste money, right?”

The group Anonymous has gone from well-known (regarding its fight against Scientology and other incidents in the past) to almost notorious in the eyes of the United States government and its allies as the group allied itself with WikiLeaks and engaged in a cyber war with various opponents of WikiLeaks.

Certain Anonymous members have taken upon themselves to target several governments and government agencies which has resulted in several arrests around the world of suspected Anonymous members, including “Topiary”, a spokesperson for Anonymous.
