The Hawaiian legislature has steadily refused the equally steady flowing requests and demands from the “birthers” to relinquish President Barack Obama’s birth certificate. The birthers’ movement wholly believes that President Obama was not born in the United States but in Kenya therefore Obama is not qualified to be the American president making all his passed bills including the recently passed and ambitious health care plan null and void.
Recently Hawaii passed a bill that allows other governmental offices in Hawaii to ignore birther requests for the President’s birth certificate. Undettered, attorney Philip Berg a “birther” leader has started to organize a march on Washington D.C which will have the protestors carry their own birth certificates on the 29th of May at President’s Park near the White House.

Ever since former Senator Barack Obama started campaigning for President, there were many feelings of incredulity of his origins. Satirical outlet The New Yorker depicted Obama in Middle Eastern attire as pals with terrorists and Osama Bin Laden in the Oval Office because of his middle name being “Hussein”. From this environment arose the birthers who demanded proof of Obama’s legitimacy as a U.S citizen.
The majority views the “birther” movement as another ‘conspiracy theory’ group without substantial proof due to the proof of Obama’s birth in Hawaii namely that of the state of Hawaii’s records showing that Barack Obama was in fact born on August 4th, 1961. Yet the birthers are still requestig to view the original birth certificate.
Also, many argue that Republicans, the traditional opponent of Democrats, including Mike Huckabee and the conservative celebrity Ann Coulter conceded that President Obama was born in the U.S which ‘should’ make it obvious to birthers that their speculation is ‘wrong’.
It is not known how many will be expected t actually participate in the birther march on Washington.
