The Fabulous Fornicators and Sparkling Sodomizers of The University and else where, has confirmed the glitter bombing and glamorizing of the Long Island Chapter of the New York Blood Center.
Suffice it to say the New York Blood Center will have many hours ahead of it to clean up glitter, however as I understand it a complimentary tee shirt was left behind as a booby prize.
WHY:
The New York Blood Center continues to violate New York City public accommodation law and Title IX of the 1972 education amendment by pushing blood drives on City University of New York campuses. They have said publicly "We don't take gay blood"
This paradigm robs LGBTQ youth of any safety and meaningful community on a college campus. The New York Blood Center are shameful leeches that profit in the millions from the blood of youth and refuse to help change the law in a meaningful manner.
The New York Blood Center also keeps a list of known homosexuals who are never allowed to give blood.

In response, Queer Union is holding an ALL-INCLUSIVE blood drive. Rather than uphold the exclusion of queer folks, QU is encouraging all folks who can donate to donate. Since queer folks will most certainly be rejected from the official drive, we will symbolically "draw blood" from queer folks next to the Blood Drive bus in order to display the WASTE of human resources based upon institutional discrimination and social prejudice. If you are able to donate, please make sure to also sign our PETITION to show you stand in solidarity against the ban.
Since all blood is both tested and screened regardless of who donated it, this unfair practice needs to end now!
